Behind StrengthInCulture

Hi, I’m Elizabeth Acheampong — Founder of StrengthInCulture

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Board-Approved Supervisor with 10+ years of experience providing therapy across the lifespan. I am licensed in:

  • Virginia (LCSW)

  • Washington, DC (LICSW)

  • Maryland (LCSW-C)

I began my career in 2016 working directly with youth, families, and individuals navigating trauma, emotional regulation, family conflict, and systemic stress. In that work, I witnessed something powerful and consistent:

The weight carried by individuals in demanding roles such as parents, leaders, caregivers, educators, and healthcare workers, was quietly trickling down into the lives of the young people and families they supported.

That realization changed my clinical focus.

Today, my work centers on supporting individuals in demanding roles not only for their own improvement, but to interrupt cycles of burnout, over-functioning, and emotional neglect that impact families, organizations, and future generations.

Supervision & Professional Leadership

In addition to my clinical work, I’m a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor, supporting and mentoring social workers, mental health professionals and therapists as they grow into ethical, competent, and confident clinicians. This role keeps me deeply connected to excellence, accountability, and the evolving needs of both clients and professionals.

My Approach

At StrengthInCulture, therapy goes beyond symptom management. Rather than looking only at what’s happening internally, I help you understand the systems, routines, expectations, and environments shaping your daily life.

Here, culture means more than heritage alone. It also includes the structures and roles that influence how you live and work, such as:

  • Workplace environments and professional demands

  • Caregiver and provider responsibility

  • Organizational and societal stressors

  • Leadership, performance, and productivity pressure

  • Family roles and generational expectations

Together, we don’t simply cope within these systems—we learn how to engage with them intentionally, creating balance and support without losing yourself in the process.

My Mission

StrengthInCulture was created from a simple truth:

When those who carry responsibility are supported, everyone benefits.

This is a space where:

  • You don’t have to perform strength

  • You don’t have to minimize your stress

  • You don’t have to choose between success and wellbeing

  • You get to be fully human

We build clarity.
We restore boundaries.
We support growth that is sustainable and lasting
